Link to interview about my latest story.
Hello all, as mentioned in post immediately below, I have a story being published by Silly Tree Anthologies. They have been doing interviews with all the authors. My interview appears today on the Silly Tree blog. Link is www.sillytreeanthologies.blogspot.com
Alan Kemister is the pen name of Dr. Phil Yeats, a research scientist who began writing fiction after retirement. He chooses to write under a pen name to keep the fictional science in stories dealing with environmental issues separate from the real science in reports of the results of his oceanographic and environmental studies. Hopefully, the science described in these stories will have a 'ring of truth' to it, but it may, in fact, be entirely fictional.

Another short story of mine, ‘Benjamin Franklin Ford and his quest for a new world’, will be appearing
in No Regrets: It’s time to move on… a
soon to be published collection of short stories and poems by Silly Tree
Anthologies. The book will be available from Silly Tree in both electronic and softcover formats.
The theme for submissions
to this volume was ‘As one year closes and another begins, you realize that
some things need to be left in the past for the next year to be truly new’. My story is set in a post-apocalyptic future
after environmental disaster and military strife have reduced civilization to a
pre-industrial society that shuns all the modern technologies deemed
responsible for the chaos. My hero,
Benji Ford, decides on the last days of the twenty-first century to abandon his
efforts to convince people that their problems stem from human misuse of technology,
not the technology itself. He ventures
forth to establish a technology-embracing community that will demonstrate the
validity of his arguments.
My story ends as he sets off into the unknown alone in a
cart drawn by two oxen. I am currently
working on a longer work that will describe Benji’s trials and tribulations as
he attempts to establish a community that embraces technology.
